Choosing the right Rhino Trunk for Camp

It's 2015, and this year's Camp season is already right around the corner! Every year, over 11 million Americans attend a summer camp, and one of the most popular items that they take is a great storage trunk. These trunks are made to store everything that you need to live off of. With many sizes and varieties, they can be difficult to choose from!

Picking the right size is what to start off with. Today, we're going to focus on Rhino Trunks. Rhino trunks for camp generally sell around $160 to $200, based on size.

Picking the right size

It's important to keep in mind that many camps have height and size restrictions on trunks. For Rhino, the Small, Large and XL are the best sellers for camp.

Small - 30" x 16" x 12.5"

Large - 32" x 18" x 14"

XL - 34" x 20" x 15"

If you're in camp for only a week or two, you could probably get by with a smaller size. If you're in camp for at least a couple of weeks, go with a larger size. Rhino also sells a Medium trunk along with other sizes, but again, make sure that your camp doesn't have any height restrictions on your trunk before you select one of these other sizes.

Choose The Exterior

There are many different ways that trunks are made. There are wooden trunks, steel trunks, plastic trunks... the list goes on and on. Rhino's primary camp trunk is made out of birch wood, and comes in different exteriors. The trunks are all built the same and are just as durable, the only difference in the outside material that is laminated on the trunk.

The two most popular styles are the Armor and the Sticker trunk. The Armor's exterior is made of a nylon, and gives it sort of a fabric feel. The Sticker is made out of a vinyl coated polyester, and gives the trunk a smooth surface that allows for stickers or decals to be placed on the trunk. If you are trying to choose between these two styles, make your decision based upon whether or not you plan to put stickers on the trunk, as well as which color you would like. Both the Armor and the Sticker come in a variety of colors that are similar, but a few color variations only come in Armor and a few only come in Sticker.

Other exteriors include:

Zebra - a soft faux fur with Zebra patterns

Camo - Realtree armor laminated on the outside of the trunk

Naked Rhino - No added exterior. The bare wood is on display. This style is good for a nice look, as well as the ability to paint the trunk and give it your own flavor.

Adding Additional Accessories

Perhaps the most fun part to the trunk, the extra bells and whistles! From removable wheels, to a tray for added storage or organization, to locks, nameplates and more, there are many fun add-ons for your trunk. Choose these based on your wants needs.

Summer Camp is a great experience for those who attend. A trunk has become a favorite for camp, and those memories can be stored in your trunk for a lifetime.
