It produces bright, soft, ambient light with three SuperBright LEDs in a tiltable housing and offers two brightness settings for efficient lighting as well as a strobe mode. The single control button must be depressed for three seconds for light to initiate, which helps prevent unintended battery drainage inside a backpack. To further protect your batteries, the headlamp’s auto shutoff feature kicks in after four hours in case the camper falls asleep with the headlamp on. It operates on 2 AAA batteries which are included. Battery life is about 36 hours, so its a good idea to purchase an extra pack or two of batteries. The Gizmo weighs 2.8 oz. with its batteries.
